T-Kay Finizzo

Owner / Trainer

T-Kay grew up on a small farm in the Pacific Northwest, and traveled with her family while her father was in the armed forces. She earned her Associate's in Arts in Education, Associate's in Science in General Sciences, Bachelor's in Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Studies, and Master's in Business Administration and Educational Leadership from The University of New Mexico. She has been in education for over 18 years, working primarily with special education and students with emotional dysregulation. Her focus was on behavior adaptation, English Language Arts, and life skills. She currently works at a local high school as the Dean of Students and is the co-owner of Flatirons Community Equine. In her spare time she volunteers as a 4-H leader in Boulder County, and this is her 3rd year in the local Colorado equine community and is working on getting certified to teach riding to individuals with disabilities.

Tricia Thomas

Tricia grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and has family roots in Colorado. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. She is the founder and sole proprietor of TMT Equine and Flatirons Equestrian Center. She has been a pillar in the Front Range equine community for many years, while creating her own lesson program, training horses, camps, events, hosting shows, and partnering with community groups. She has over 25 years of teaching students in English and western disciplines, hunter jumper, and dressage, and also has been a certified therapeutic riding instructor. While on her 8th consecutive year volunteering as a horse leader in the Boulder County 4-H program, her love for bringing the community together with equestrian programs continue. Her current endeavor is launching Flatirons Community Equine as a co-owner, and continuing the journey that she loves.
