What Campers Will Learn

  • Riding: English/Western basics with a focus on seat, balance, and control.

  • Science: Equine anatomy, agriculture basics, and horse behavior.

  • Stewardship: Barn management, grooming, tacking, and feeding.

  • Life Skills: Confidence, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork.

Sample Daily Schedule

A balanced mix of saddle time, hands-on care, and education.

  • 9:00 AM: Registration & Drop-off

  • 9:15 AM: Morning Meeting (Safety briefing & day's goals)

  • 9:45 AM:Lesson 1 (Horsemanship theory & groundwork)

  • 10:15 AM: Morning Break

  • 10:30 AM:Horseback Riding & Stable Care (Grooming, tacking, and riding skills)

  • 11:30 AM: Healthy Lunch (Bring your own—nut-free/allergy aware)

  • 12:00 PM: PM Session Transition (Half-day campers depart)

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM:Advanced Stable Care & Riding Rotation

  • 1:00 PM: Afternoon Break

  • 1:15 PM:Lesson 2 (In-depth skill building, science, or agriculture focus)

  • 1:45 PM: Barn Activities (Games, education, swimming/water fun*, & teamwork challenges)

  • 3:00 PM: Pick-up

Camper Checklist & Requirements

Please review carefully. This is an electronics-free zone to ensure safety and focus.

Required Gear:

  • Helmet: ASTM/SEI-approved riding helmet (limited Rentals available).

  • Footwear: Boots with a distinct heel (No sneakers/open toes).

  • Attire: Long pants (jeans/breeches).

  • Sun Safety: Hat, eye protection, and sunscreen (applied before drop-off).

  • Gloves: Riding gloves (Available for purchase).

Food & Hydration:

  • Lunch: A substantial, healthy lunch and snacks. (No sweets/junk food).

  • Water: A large refillable water bottle is mandatory.

Prohibited Items:

  • 🚫 Phones, Tablets, Smart Watches, Headphones.

  • 🚫 Jewelry (Stud earrings only).

  • 🚫 Food for horses (unless pre-approved).
